The Chief Operating Officer (COO) oversees the company’s daily business operations and administration. The CEO often sets the company’s vision, and the COO is tasked with realizing that vision.

The COO is often heavily entrenched in the daily tasks, while the CEO spends their time representing the company before all its stakeholders (e.g., shareholders, regulators, lawmakers, customers, the media, etc.)

The COO is just one of many “C-suite” roles within an organization.

Other important “C-suite” roles within an organization include the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Accounting Officer (CAO), and Chief Compliance Officer (CCO)
