The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) oversees and manages the company’s regulatory compliance issues.

Generally, the CCO is responsible for the following:

  • Assessing the annual compliance obligations of the company
  • Creating, implementing, and overseeing the compliance plan
  • Coordinating with regulators on compliance issues
  • Coordinating internal compliance review and monitoring activities

The CCO is just one of many “C-suite” roles within an organization.

Other important “C-suite” roles within an organization include the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Operating Officer (COO), and Chief Accounting Officer (CAO).
