The B-2 Visa (Tourism & Medical Care) is a non-immigrant visa issued by the United States (U.S.) to non-U.S. persons. It allows foreign nationals to travel to the U.S. for tourism and to seek medical attention. However, the B-2 Visa does not authorize the individual to permanently live and work in the United States.

Travelers can generally stay in the U.S. for up to 180 days. The B-2 visa is a multiple-entry visa, which means the person can use it to enter the U.S. more than once, so long as they don’t violate the time restrictions.

When foreign nationals apply for their B-2 Visa, they often simultaneously apply for the B-1 Visa (Temporary Business Visitor). The combined visa is a B1/B2.
